Consultant-Led Reassurance Scan From 8-12 Weeks

What is a Reassurance Scan?

A Reassurance Scan offers parents peace of mind in the early stages of pregnancy. We provide these scans from 8 to 12 weeks, allowing expectant parents to see their baby’s development and confirm progress before being discharged to their midwife.

Recent BBC coverage has drawn attention to the importance of choosing qualified professionals for early pregnancy scans (BBC News, 2025). At Complete Fertility, all Reassurance Scans are carried out by our experienced consultant Christina Baker, providing patients with the confidence that their care is in safe and expert hands. We’re proud to offer this supportive, high-quality service to help parents feel confident and reassured throughout the early stages of pregnancy.

Reassurance Scans are priced at £250 and are available to both Complete Fertility patients and non-Complete Fertility patients seeking a Consultant-led experience.

What do I need to prepare before having a Reassurance Scan?

Wear comfy 2 piece clothing as we recommend a transvaginal scan in these early stages of pregnancy when the womb is still tucked away deep in the pelvis.

Can you see the baby this early?

Yes we should be able to see your tiny baby as early as 6 weeks and as the weeks progress we will see more and more through each stage.

How accurate are early pregnancy scans?

Transvaginal scans give clearer images at this early stage of pregnancy and are safe for your baby. We can accurately match the development of the early pregnancy stages to your dates for your reassurance.

I’m not a patient here — can I still book a Reassurance Scan?

Yes, even if you’re not a registered patient of ours you can book a reassurance can with us.

What happens during the scan?

We will look at your developing pregnancy together assessing all the developmental stages and match those to your dates for your reassurance that everything is developing as it should.

Do I need a full bladder?

We recommend a transvaginal scan before 12 weeks to get lovely clear pictures of your baby so an empty bladder is recommended for both your comfort and higher quality images

Can I bring someone with me to my scan?

Yes you can bring along another adult with you to share these precious moments together.
